What Fun

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas day.

I had geat fun, I got a video whatsapp from my granddaughter (technically from my daughter) wishing me merry christmas and thanking me for her presents. So that was lovely.

Youngest daughter and I also started a new christmas tradition, PANCAKE breakfast. Yes pancakes, smothered in butter, maple syrup and topped with fruit.

Sorry forgot to take a pic but just imagine...........fluffy pancakes stacked 2 high............maple syrup drizzling over the edge.........and.......big beautiful blueberries & strawberries sitting majestically on top....

....oh no, I'm hungry now.......lol

I got Lego for christmas, yes Lego.

I know I know, that might sound unusual but as well as loving Lego.....I'm also an avid gamer.

One of my favourite games is...............

It's an exciting post-apocalyptic open world adventure game

I know you are now wondering what this has to do with Lego..

.....WELL....

Lego have special edition kits

And

 I GOT A TALLNECK!!

This is one of the very few passive beasts in the game, by climbing this huge machine you get map information as well as a great view of your surroundings.....it is so majestic.

 And of course

I had to build it, (in between cooking the christmas dinner), with my youngest helping, naturally.

WOOHOO

Climbing up the Tallneck is the Heroine of the game, Aloy

But you know I had to personalise it

by adding figurines of myself & my hubby's (no, not specially made figures

This will now take pride of place on a shelf in my living room for all to see. It was such fun to build.

Well I better get back to being inventive with all this turkey....LOL

All wrapped up

So many things to do, so little time......Aaaaaaaaaarrgh!!!!

It's fine....no really it's fine. We have all got this, we're crafters! We can do anything....

I have 4 snowflakes crocheted and I need at least 30 more................I CAN do this..............

Hmm......should I make a red cloak for the card deliveries? If I made the hood deep enough it would garantee nobody sees it's me. Although no-one's spotted me yet, or they haven't said anything thankfully.

Nope, I need to make more wrapping paper, which conviently goes with our challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters

CHRISTMAS

so I have made my wrapping paper by recycling

And then Buffy? I hear you cry...

And once that's done?

And of course the final stage of the process, wrapping the pressies

The secret is to not colour every stamped image.

It's very satisfying to know I've rescued paper and given it a new life, even if it's only briefly. At least some of this wrapping will become a firelighter. Cozy

I apologize for the tiny writing on some of the photos, I underestimated  how small they would look on here.

Our fabulous DT have made some super creations, so go share some holiday cheer with them....Here

Stamp set - FtLoS - Festive Flok Art Stockings & Baubles

Inkpad - Momento Tuxedo black

Pens - Kurtake Brush pens

Happy Yuletide, Merry Christmas, Season Greetings

Joy & Peace to you

Oh Baubles

Oh my baubles, it's almost christmas......

I've not finished my wrapping yet.............ok.......ok.........breath.........there's still a couple of weeks

Just breath................IN 1 2 3.........and OUT 1 2 3....................let's make christmas cards instead......

We are going full Christmas crackdown over at Fab'n'Funky challenges

CHRISTMAS

I know, I know, who needs reminding....

Now if you promise to keep it between us I'll tell you a secret......Promise?
I have to give all my neighbours a christmas card and no I don't know most of them, it's just the idea that someone might not get a single greetings card fills me with dread.

My husband thinks I'm weird but I can't help it. I've been doing it for a few years now.
I know I can't send everyone in my neighbourhood a card, I don't have enough cardstock for that. But I can make sure at least 100 homes get a card.
I also try to put a crochet decoration in some of the cards and I post these to the houses with children.
This year I'm crocheting snowflakes.

And before anyone asks, NO, I don't sign my name. Hell, I don't even put my made by stamp on it.
And as far as I'm aware none of my neighbours blog, so they won't find out.
I'm only confessing my antics to all of you because I figure none of you will think it's weird, PLUS, you're all crafters too, and I'm sure dozens of you do exactly the same thing.

Anyway

Here are the latest batch of cards

I know they are super simple, but they are made with Hugs & Happy Thoughts

And this year they are also made with Nuvo crystal drops.......for the centre piece of the baubles

We had to eat dinner on the sofa because our dining table was covered in drying cards 😂

Our lovely DT have come up with some amazing creations, so pop along and leave them some christmas cheer......Here

Stamp sets - FtLoS Festive Flok Ark - Stockings & Baubles and O Christmas tree.

Ink - Momento Tuxedo black

Happy Yuletide, Merry Christmas, Season Greetings

I wish you all Joy & Peace

Snowmen

 Hello again

Oooow it's turned a bit nippy here, which is quite appropriate because

we are building

SNOWMEN

(Snow people if you prefer)

over at Fab'n'Funky challenges

so without further delay here is my simple creation

Another one of my WMS stamp sets (I do miss WMS),  with pale blue and white cardstock and light blue gems.

Snowmen were cut out by hand andmounted using 1mm foam pads after the snowflakes were stamped. Then the gems were added

I hope you are all well underway with your Yuletide preparations, I won't lie I'm slightly behind schedule this year.

Although I have got a few dozen christmas card made and I will start posting them this week, just to gaurantee they all arrive in time.

I actually received my first christmas card yesterday.

Please remember to visit all our lovely ladies and leave them some good vibes, HERE

Blue Hues

 Hello my lovelies,

All Blue Hues

so show us your project with lots of different blues.

I went for a mainly ink card, the balloons were stamped then masked off and then the sentiment was added.

Fall Harvest & joining the Sisterhood

Some exciting news, I am now a member of The Sisterhood of Crafters design team.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the email, such a nice surprise.

The challenge this time is

Fall Harvest

(so think autumn or harvest time or combine the two,
all those warm colours and piles of leaves)

Similar to a previous card I made but with a bit more emphasis on harvest time, I created this

Lots of masking on this one, we start with the juicy red apple then mask it.

Next comes the basket of apples then mask.

Lastly the Pumpkin group.

Masks removed and the colouring began.

I then stamped the leaves on a separate piece of card, coloured them in and cut them out.

I layered up using 1mm foam pads.

Please pop over to the Sisterhood and share some love with our wonderful design team, HERE

  • Cardstock - white and S.U. Pumkin pie
  • Stamp - WMS Peace & Plenty
  • Promarkers - Carmine, Crimson, Poppy, Pumpkin, Mango, Apricot, Spice, Pear green, Moss green, Lemon, Tan, Caramel, Cinnamon
  • Ink - Momento tuxedo black

Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates

Masculine

 Hey good morning,

We have to remember all those wonderful men in our lives, so over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we want you to show us

Masculine

whatever your take of masculine is, be it colours or images

I have gone for a CAS card style, with minimal colour pallette

I first stamped the lantern using S.U.baked brown sugar inkpad, then masked it off.

Next the boot-prints were stamped using S.U.soft suede inkpad.

The lantern was coloured in using promarkers - caramel, cinamon, burnt sienna and lemon.

Finishing with the sentiment in Momentos tuxedo black.

Stampset used was F.t.L.o.S. The Great Outdoors.

Please pop over and leave some love for our wonderful Design Team, they always enjoy your visit, HERE

Youngest daughter popped home from Uni to bring me some fabric and get her measurements taken for a cosplay costume she wants.

And Yes, for those of you who've been visiting me for years you will recognise this concept art, Hatsune Miku 2020 winning costume. We never got round to making it as lockdowns shut down all the events.

So now we are finally getting it made, I say we but the sewing will be ME. I am making her do all the hand-painting on the skirt 😉.

Back again soon with more sharing

Weekend of chaos

After a very soggy week, I spent over half the weekend trying to dry my crafting shed out.

Well at least it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been, the roof is still in place.

On the plus side, have washed up all the water leaks it is now very clean.

Still chaotic but clean (youngest daughter keeps threatening to go organise it, it's organised chaos), Hey I basically know where everything is!

Ok Ok so now and then I put something back in the wrong place and then spend weeks trying to find it, BUT, that's when I discover an old stamp set I haven't used in years 😉

I just received news, I passed my college course "Understanding Autism" 💖Woohoo💖

So, how many of you remember me mentioning this back 2020

Well there will be more news to follow shortly

PLUS

I will be revealing something very soon (November)

So hit the follow button for updates

Spooky season fast approaches

I love this time of year

Pumpkin pie, hot totties and the little children in their halloween costumes, so much fun.

As you may remember I crochetted a little witch and a candy-corn, see here

Well I made a slightly larger candy-corn keyring with eyes

So now on to the card-making, I spotted that The Sisterhood of Crafters had an exciting challenge

Pumpkins!!!

So pleased to be able to put my WMS stampset to good use again, it was getting lonely on the shelf.

Although there is a pumpkin promarker, I used it the least. Apricot, honeycomb a little pumpkin and some moss green helped to give the pumpkins a more rounded appearence. With a tiny pop of white gel pen on top.

The apples are crimson, poppy and cardinal. Pear is lemon, lime green and apple green. Lastly the grapes are plum, orchid and violet.

White and Honeycomb cardstock.

And when you spend quite a bit of time on the card, well then envelope has to have a hint of something

I would also like to enter this card into the following fabulous challenges:

Hope you are all as excited about Halloween as I am.

Keep crafting and smiling

A crochet creation and CAS card

 Hello my lovelies,

I promised to share my latest crochet creation and here she is

I even gave her a candy-corn. My granddaughter ran off with the candy corn but the little witch is sitting in our geocache waiting to be taken to her forever home.

I have also been doing quite a bit of card-making recently. I know there was a time when I would be posting on a regular basis but I lost myself for a while and I couldn't find me or my mojo.

BUT

I'm starting to get back my mojo, it had just been buried quite deep.......SOOOO back to the importantly fun card-making/creating.

I have created this lovely little card for an interesting challenge

They have this intersting colour challenge at CAS Colour & Sketch and I can honestly say I probably wouldn't have put these 3 colours together myself and that's what makes it fun, so without further ado

And yes it's very simple and clean, maybe too simple.

But it has presence and the cloloured hexagons  in this photo seems a lot darker than in real life, I'm going to have to check my camera setting.

So I used my S.U. hexagon punch, S.U. thin oval punch, white cardstock and Tuxedo black ink for the sentiment (which was free on a magazine and about 10yrs old)

Well I still have dozens of christmas cards to make so I will see you soon.

Show your Colouring

So been a little while but I think I'm slowly getting back to me, which is a great thing.

Baked butter bread with my granddaughter, crocheted a witch & a candy corn BUT I also got back to some card-making.

And, our challenge this week over at Fab'n'Funky challenges is:

Show us your colouring

yeah, cool challenge right, so simple. So whether your a fan of pencils, markers, crayons or paint, just go wild and show us what ya got.

As you may have guessed I'm a fan of Promarkers, but here I allowed the cardstock to tell me where to add colour. Tan & sandstone promarkers to add shadows to the wals, terracota for the bricks and chimneys and a variety of greens for all the foliage. Plus, just for fun, a white gel pen for the cute picket fence, door and window sills.

This was also a multi layer masking excerise. Fence first, then the conifer, next the house and finally the small stones at the front.

Please visit all our lovely DT's and leave them some well deserved love.

I'll share my crochet makes next time.

Wings or Scales

 Hello my lovelies,

I hope your summer break was as good as mine. Youngest daughter came home from Japan, granddaughter has mastered the potty (like the boss she is) and I've been doing a course on foraging (that I had completely forgot I had gotten...oops)

Well, Fab'n'Funky challenges are also back from summer break.......YIPPEE......and we want to see

Wings or Scales

Yes that's right, show us your scaly or wingy creations

My eldest great nephew's birthday is fast approaching so I fashioned him a little card, that goes with our theme.

Super simple and clean, although I'm not going to lie, my blending wasn't the greatest on this one....

The dragon is the star of the show but....everyone likes a knight in shining armor so

I grabbed my clear sakura gel pen and sparkled him up.

I also used, Promarkers, Momento inkpad, Fine-line pen, S.U. punch and pale green cardstock for the card.

I hope you all had a great summer, please remember to leave some love for all the DT at Fab'n'Funky challenges and I'll see you on the next challenge

One Layer CAS

Hello my lovelies, haven't we had some great weather over the bank holiday.  It was so lovely I almost forgot to write this post!! Let's face it who wants to stay in when it's so beautiful outside.

But over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges we've all braved the indoors so we could bring you a new challenge, picked by yours truely.

One Layer CAS

yes a single layer card with minimal work. I know lots of people struggle to stop themselves when it comes to creating a card but you must.

I know you can do it, I believe in you. I believe you have the willpower, NO, I know you have the willpower to restrain yourselves.....

If I can do it then anyone can.....I have faith

But let's get on with the important thing..........CARD..........

I hope my little creation will inspire you

I'm not going to lie, it was difficult to stop, so many cute things I wanted to add....but then I looked in the mirror and said

NO, YOU CAN'T ADD THOSE EXTRA FLOWERS

So I added so glossy accents instead.

I used plain white cardstock to create the A5 card, a couple of lovely FTLS stamp from my stash, promarkers and of course the glossy accents liquid.

No ever said a one layer CAS can't pop.

And doesn't it just give it that little something special

I'm looking forward to seeing everyones creations.

Fabulous day are Donington park race track on Sunday. I do love old cars, some were over 100 yrs old (yeah modern cars are lucky to last 10yrs....)

But back to why we're really here.....CARDMAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Over at Fab'n'Funky challenges the new theme is

Things with Wings

Note that very import first word "Things", so drag out your dragons, poke up your pixies or wrestle your robins, wings are what matter.

I thought I'd use this opportunity to used a new (ok, sat at back of stash unused) stamp and get my Xmas card collect increased.

I really enjoyed making this one......we all need a little colour right now

These adorable little umbrellas are from my TL advent calender and so are the wellies.

The rainbow paper I've had in my stash for a few years now...(honestly not sure how long) and yes the flowery paper underneath the stand was my original plan BUT rainbows!!!!

Retro living

I wonder how many people remember the fabulous styles of the 80's?

Ah those super sexy mullets and powerful shoulder-pads. No? Mix tapes?

Maybe you're inspired by lovely Georgian dress, or Art-Deco.?

Well whatever it is that takes your fancy, we are having a retro/vintage theme over at

Fab'n'Funky challenges

Yes we are celebrating all things from the past.

Personally I'm quite the fan of a good mix tape, hell we still own several.

I made this using one of my fabulous "for the love of stamps" set - Retro, so funky holographic cardstock (that I totally forgot I had) and of course Promarkers.

I have also been busy making grandbab a cut little Pokemon for her birthday

A lovely little Squirtle

I kind of gooffed, she's really into Bulbasaur and Piplup. But it was fun to make.

Any hooo, please go check out our lovely DT ladies at Fab'n'Funky challenges (link up above) and leave them some love.

Well I need to get back to working on my competion quilt......sooo nervous...

World Record

So what has everyone been up to? I've been doing some crochetting.

Well on friday 24th February 2023 the city of Derby hosted a world record attempt.

What world record? The most people crochetting in the same place.

A title held by New south wales, Austrailia with 604 people taking the record.

BUT

On the above mentioned date crocheters arrived at the Derby Arena, and not just from Derby, and not just from the surrounding area, in fact some of people travelled great distances to take part.

One woman flew in from New York and another from Malaga, so anyone in britain how said Derby was to far.......hmm

Here are a few of the lovely people who took part

 Anyway................................

960 people

New World Record

Woohoo

It's nice to have taken part in something so big.

New Beginings

 Good morning

Hope you've all had wonderful holidays and Santa brought you something nice
Santa brought me a new mobile because he was fed up of it constantly falling over (it was 7yrs old).
Now how about some fun filled crafting? Yes? Of course yes.

Over at Fab'n'Funky challenges our lovely Neva has chosen the theme

"New Beginings"

So a wedding, new house, new job or new baby

I chose new baby, let's face it, always having a couple of new baby cards ready is sooo helpful.

I used the two-tone pink for a girl card and two-tone blue for a boy card.

Yes, I still see no problem with greeting newborns with pink or blue

Another thing I did which is hard to see is the metallic pen on the prams chassis & wheels.
As well as the embossed sections on the trains (could not get a good photo of them)

Please visit our lovely DT over at Fab'n'Funky callenges and leave them some positive vibes.

We all love seeing your creations, so please join in.

The stamps used are

  • Hunkydory - For the love of stamps - Bundles of Joy, really cute set.

Dies used were

  • Spellbinders - Wonky squares
  • Spellbinders - Scalloped ovals
  • Creative Expressions - Filigree 3D bow
