All Sorts of Christmas Challenges

What a Christams!?!?!?!?
Half the house laid up with flu, half the presents not wrapped....But hey ho, we're still here and fitting back 👌
At least we got a fully plastered wall for christmas, I can't stop singing the builderes praises enough. They gave us back Christmas.
A little bit of news...the forensics came back and the police came to take our statements again. Hopefully the driver will now come to justice.

Now for some fun crafty stuff...

Firstly I have a christmas card to share with you...

I am entering this little card into the
I kept it nice and simple. I loved the effect silver and white on kraft. I used Ice Grey promarker to highlight the edges of the petals and went over it with a sakura clear stardust pen (unfrtunately it didn't show in the photo). The greeting was stamped in smokey slate then overwritten with a silver pen.

Now I'm sure no one wants to sing christmas songs now BUT lets finish off the Advent calendar shall we....
" In the -- Advent window
my calendar gave to me

(21) One glass of Bubbly

(22) A cute fluffy bunny

(23) A quick boot up the backside

(24) A blurry special greeting

And (25) an exploding bottle of bubbly

The minute my camera batteries are fully recharged I shall share all my little creations (DOH!)

Now, I said I would be giving away some candy in the New Year and I meant it. There will be 2 prize candies - One for UK/Ireland and the other Worldwide.
The main candy post will follow in a few days time.
To be in with a chance of winning you will have to follow my blog then leave a quick message in the comments box and of course click on the linky - Adding your Name/Nickname - UK/Ire or World.

Just to wet your appetite here is a sneak peek at one of the 2 candies
Please note; the pink cutting mat is not part of the prize.

So come back in a few days to see the main prizes and all the Linky goodness 😀

See you soon

Advent catch up.....

The last few days have been a little crazy, the forensics have come back from the lab so our case officer came round to take statements (they took statements on the night but they have to do it again just in case you're overly emotional at the time). An hour after the officer had left the Asda delivery showed up, once we had packed all that away we finally grabbed some dinner. Friday wasn't much better and then yesterday my husband decided to do the back-up which took the entire day!!! MENTAL!!!!
I promised to share my creation for advent window 13 but what I should have said was a peek.
It's a birthday card for a football mad friend and I don't want to give the Game away.

Just before we get on with the advent calendar.....I will be offer 2 crafty candies in January, one for UK followers and one for Worldwide followers.....so if you want to start following now so you don't miss the event...

But let's get on with a few more days shall we......
"In the 14th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
a creepy little spider web"
"In the 15th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
a beautiful diamond ring"
I decided to combine the last two into a homage to my wonderful sister-in-law. She has refused to marry her other half for the best part of 2 decades so I created an ATC to express the long wait..
I used a dark grey backing, die-cut the web from light grey and added a little black ink. I ruffed the edges. I added a little blue gem to give it a bit more dimension. I die-cut the bow in mirri-card wihich I then scrunched up. The red fabric is a tiny scrap thet was left over from the waistcoats I made earlier in the year.
She has said she'll marry him when england win the world cup......She never specified if it had to be the mens team 😁 !!!!!!Go ladies!!!!!
I'm entering this into:
The 16th and 17th will follow very shortly, as well as I peek at my happy holidays collection.

See you tomorrow

Another advent and a Fab challenge

Hello, so today will be a double slam dunk of a post.

We have a fabulous challenge for you over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.

This weeks challenge is

Anything but Christmas
 Our lovely sponsor is
Bugaboo Stamps

With one of our chaps retiring next week after 49 years of working in the railway (and he's a golfing nut) this fabulous digi stamp was just perfect.
The small white ball you can see is actually an atom piece from my university Molymod kit.

So no, what about the advent window...........well

"In the 13th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
an energetic football die"

And I'm going to make you wait till tomorrow to see what I created with it 😜

See you tomorrow

Another day another window

Diving straight in today

"In the 12 Advent window
my calendar gave to me
a fresh spring blosom die"

This was the perfect little die to go with my afternoon tea stamp set.
It had been bothering me for a while, what would look nice with this set. I had felt that all of my flower dies were just to big, but this one was just right. So I used a limited pallet of colours. I quite pleased with the effect.

Only 14 sleeps til Christmas

Can you believe there are only 14 sleeps til Christmas? Good grief this is coming round quick.

"In the 11th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
A cute little reindeer fawn"
Ah, such a cute advent treat....
Well my dinner table name places are now ready for christmas dinner, here are a few of them
They are only simple because I believe it's who is around the table that's the important part. I have used a quicky glue pen and some ultra-fine Gold glitter for the names.

We have been so very lucky, the workmen our insurance sent have been doing an amazing job.
We have a wall and window again, so we can have an almost normal christmas. I can only hope the workmen realise what a great job they have done.
This is a little message to all of them, to our lovely neighbours who offered hot drinks and a warm place to sit on the day it happened & the days after and also to all my friends who have offered such kind wishes to us.
Thank you

I would like to ask you all to spare a thought for all the people who have lost a loved one due to a drunk driver. Also a prayer that they can find happiness once again.

Zero Tolerance! I think it's time.

Love and prayers to you all
See you tomorrow

In the 10th Advent.....

I am very delighted by today's advent treat.........ready to sing along??

"In the 10th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
a scrummy yummy cupcake die"

A yummy cupcake deserves sparkle & sprinkles with candy colours and shiny ribbon....
So I used my new advent die and added the cutouts from the 2nd Advent die (stars) as sprinkles. A nice shiny Pink and purple ribbon to go with the card and cupcake bases. I covered the icing section in iridescent ultra-fine glitter.
I know a little girl who is going to love this.
Oh, remember how I couldn't think what to do with the skull from the 9th Advent window, well I worked it out.......
 Carol Singing Skulls
Yes, it's a little weird I know, but hey why not, and they do look festive with their little bows (advent 8). Believe it or not I can think of a few people who would think this is hilarious.
I am entering my skeletal choir in
Hope you have enjoying my Advent countdown and you are having a great time preparing for the festive excitement.

In the 9th Advent......

Another quick post I'm afraid. It's been a very busy day, clearing everything from downstairs, taking our eldest to find a new car and posting cards & presents to foreign countries.

So...........
"In the 9th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
A scary little skull die"

I'll be honset.....I'm so into the christmas festive mood I'm struggling to know what to do with this...

So I shall have a bit more of a think and hopefully come back to share whatever creation I come up with.
Sorry for the lack of inspiration.....think my brain is having a little overload at the moment.

See you tomorrow

In the 8th Advent

Hello, so as well as opening my calendar today I got an extra nice surprise.
When I got home from work we had a front window again.
It was so great and it's hard to believe that only 3 weeks ago we had half our living room wall on the living room carpet.
So now that I have gotten the good news out of the way lets get on with the fun part

"In the 8th Advent window
my calendar gave to me
a cute festive bow"
So I have made some simple present tags.

Short and sweet today as I have lots to do before the decorators show up next week, yes I'm pleasantly shocked at the prospect. Christmas with a normal living room again :-)

In the 7th Advent window

Not quite the crafty day I had hoped for, the Plasterer and Plumber showed up today. Apparently (weather permitting) our new living room window shows up tomorrow. So exciting times. It's hard to believe there was a car stuck in it only three weeks ago.

But back to the important business of crafting and advent calendar....ready?

In the 7th Advent Window
My calendar gave to me
A message of seasonal Joy

I wanted to make something a little different with this die and in the end decided to combine it with the 4th advent die (snowfalke) to make a festive badge. I shall be wearing it to our office fuddle.
My husband very kindly took this photo for me, I was struggling to take it myself with our little camera...........(and I'm not a fan of using my mobile for selfies)

I'm entering my badge into the following challenges

Another plus for today is my wonderful friend Heather came over from Shrewsbury for a visit and we had a lovely lunch at our local garden centre.

I hope you will joing me again tomorrow for the next window.

NOW
But back to todays the task in hand.....another line to our song

In the 6th Advent Window
My calendar gave to me
A cute little puppy dog die
I have to say I really wasn't sure about this die when I opened the window this morning. But then I thought about a friend who is doggy mad and adores getting lost in a good book and the answer was simple.
A bookmark
Combine to passions into one, I just hope she likes it.

Well it's getting late and I want to get up early to open the next window.

In the 5th Advent Window

Hope everyone has had a great day, are you ready for todays sing along? There's a bit of a twist....

In the 5th Advent window
My calendar gave to me
Nothing
The die that sholuld be sitting behind this little window is rattling around somewhere inside, I am devastated. Now I have to wait till I either find it in another window OR WORSE I'll have to wait till christmas day to rip it apart.

Now I know some of you are probably think "Just open it and find it ya daft bat" but NO! I will not cheat and peak at others just to find this one now. I shall steal my resolve and patiently wait....I can do this!!!!  I shall look forward to making something.

I do have some fabulous news to share with you all.
We nearly have a living room wall again 😁. They are hoping to get the wall plastered before christmas. (although I think it's far to young for that) As you can imagine we are delighted that the builders our insurance sent out have done so well.
We probably won't have a window till the new year but at least they are doing their best with everything else.

I'm sorry for not having a new project to share with you today but at least we have 20 days left.

Aaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!! Only 20 days......oh no....so much wrapping and so little time.....😢

See you tomorrow

In the 4th Advent Window

Christmas is getting closer, shall we carry on with the calendar? Of course we will, why should children be the only ones to get excited by an advent calendar.

In the 4th Advent Window
My calendar gave to me
A winter wonderland snow flake

Talk about perfect timing, this was exactly the little touch I needed to finish my christmas cards. So I started going a little carzy with the die cutting
I used purple card and a Silver Shake It pen, to give them extra wintery sparkle. I then printed out a few LOTV Smowman digi stamps and hey presto....
The first of many christmas cards. I also die-cut blue snowflakes and circles. I'm thinking of doing some line green ones too (just to be different). I have also added glitter to the orbs around the snowmans head.
I have seen a few interesting challenges I am going to enter this cute little card into:
I hope you will return tomorrow to see what delight the advent window reveals

Oh I almost forgot, we almost have a living room wall :-)  photo tomorrow   Hopefully they will finish rebuiling it by the end of the week. Then we just have to wait for the new window.......so exciting

See you soon

Sunday 3 December 2017

In the 3rd advent window

A little later than normal but........
Here we go again everyone, are you ready?

In the 3rd advent window
My calendar gave to me
a cute little cherub die

This little chap proved to be a bit of a chellenge. Then I remembered that I had birthday card to make. Elegant, that is what the card needed to be, so that is what I tried to achieve.
I chose a sublte colour pallette, and I had this lovely free downloaded image from Dreamees. I used cream and grey card for the layering and black for the cherubs. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Clarity stamps.

I am entering this into
   Freshly Made Sketches

Saturday 2 December 2017

In the 2nd Advent window

Hope everyone is ready for the next song line

In the 2nd advent window
My calender gave to me
Sparkling little stars die

This is so much fun. With this die I decided to make a reminder. One of my stamp sets has a wonderful sentiment that seemed almost to perfect for this die.
For anyone who can't see it very well (apologies for photo) it says:
"Only in the darkness
can you see the stars"
It is a quote from Martin Luther King Jr, I think it is a wonderful sentiment we should all remember.

Unfortunately I was unable to capture the sparkle of the glitter on the stars.
I put double-sided tape on some white card and then sprinkled iridescent ultra-fine glittler onto it.
I then attached this to the back of the black card.
Using foam pads I mounted it on to the blue background.
There is a ribbon attached to the back, so it can be hung up.

In the 1st Avdent Window

I have not had the best start in the run up to christmas season BUT that is going to change. I will not let the season of cheer and goodwill be ruined by chaos. How am I going to do this?!?!? Very simple

My Special Advent Song

No, no, no, don't panic. I'm not actually going to sing, I want a white xmas not a wet one 😉
No, you have to put the tune for the "Twelve Days of Christmas" to my lyrics, ok? So....

In the 1st advent window
My calender gave to me
A cute Rudolf reindeer die

I don't think I have ever been so excited to open an advent calender. I have of course whizzed up a quick make for this adorable die
A Rudolf button, very quick and simple and only a few items needed.

Brown, red and white card. Cute advent die, small circle die/punch, black fineliner pen and a foam pad. Die-cutting machine of your choice.
(Optional - leaf/follage stamp for background)

If a slightly larger circle was used then it could easily be turned into a name badge or table nameplate.

I hope you have enjoyed todays quick advent make, and I hope you will sing along with me until christmas.

I am also entering my little creation into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything But a Card
Creatilicious Challenges  - Anything goes with optional flourish
          AAA Cards: CAS game 104

I am looking forward to the morning..."In the 2nd advent window............."
