Nearly a new year

After hours of prep and weeks of organisation, it is all over. Always fasinates me how much time we all spend trying to make the perfect xmas for the ones we love and it's over and done with in a blink of the eye. Ah well.

Got a lovely new camera bag that I can finally fit all my gear in, woohoo.
To celebrate, I've attempted a very low-light shot. I call it Romantic Mood

Might not be to everyones taste but I enjoyed setting up the shot.

Only three more months of torture (unless I find another job first). It will be so wonderful not having to travel so far 5 days a week. I'm really looking forward to having more time with my family.
And more time for friends too

Chilled to the bones

I think it may be time to consider investing in some lovely thermal underwear........
Wondering round the quarry as tightly wrapped up as possible and still the cold is finding every little seam it can.

I have been doing quite well at getting my xmas cards made and sent, shame the pressie shopping isn't going quite so well.(must have been working with blokes for too long...lol)

Cold

Cold is definately not the right word to describe today weather. No running water because the pipes are frozen, half the works toilets not flushing, and conveyer belts jamming. It makes you wonder why you bother getting up in the mornings.
But the lanscape does look beautiful coated in frost. It almost makes you forget how awful the roads are, almost.

Time passing me by

Again I can't believe it has been so long since I wrote here.
So what's been going on......well

I have rekindled an old passion over the last 2 years, photography.  I think I may even be improving.....

I'm trying to combine my love of photography and card-making.
I will hopefully have completed a few decourpage and topper sheets, over the next couple of months, which I am hoping will prove of interest to a few of the nearby craft shops.

The last few days have been a bit of a nightmare, the roads around our house have been sheets of ice and getting out to work has been impossible.

This was our remedy to the shopping in the snow problem, good old-fashioned leg power and a sledge. I have to say it was most liberating to not get in the car.

I definitely need to find a job closer to home, this 60 mile a day thing is a killer. Not made any easier when the weather turns. I am completely fed up with missing out on my time with my family.

Very much looking forward to the new year, yes I know it's a bit early, but I truely believe it will bring better times and a more optimistic out-look on life in general. At least that is my new consensus on life, to look only for the positive, even if there are those around who would only push the negative.
