Donkey Logic

So I was browsing through some of my old posts when I came across one that I would like to re-share with you all, before I share my recent craziness.

Donkey Logic
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realised what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up!
Shake it off and take a step up

Please hold this donkey story in your heart for those bad days -

Now the crazy stuff :-p

I have been quite busy with my sewing machine recently.
My lovely friend Dawn had picked a beautiful dress and a couple of waistcoats from a Bridal shop. She had taken her dress home but was due to pick up the waistcoats at a later date. Unfortunately the shop had a fire.
So for some mental reason she asked me to make them for her. Well, I agreed to make them. I figure I am a slightly masochistic person, so the terror of making her the waistcoats was to much to resist.

And when they went to get their suits, they took the waistcoats with them
I was as pleased as them, when the waistcoats fitted so nicely.

I've never been confident about my own abilities but I have never let that stop me from trying. I guess that's my donkey logic.
To put the icing on the cake, I made myself a new dress too
If I'm feeling brave enough I shall get my hubby to take a pic of me wearing it. (no promises)

I will keep shaking it off and stepping up, I hope you will too
Back soon with more craziness

Lights, camera, Patterned paper

Good morning
We have a fun challenge for you this week at

this week our lovely sponsor is

what do we want you to do?
Use patterned Paper

Yes it's that simple. So get digging and grab all those off-cuts, or your favourite back ground paper or mix-it-up a bit.

Here is my inspiration for this weeks challenge

This adorable image is "Little Anna" from Lia Stamps. I dug through my stash and found these two patterned papers. Also thanks to Doncaster Crafting Live show I had this lovely lilac coloured card.

But I will share my Doncaster adventures in a few days. I can say I met a lovely lady who had recently retired and was new to crafting, so I told her to pop over to the Fab'n'Funky blog for inspiration and of course to ask for advice.

Please pop along and check out the lovely DT creations and leave them a little happiness.

Where has 2017 gone???

I'm not afraid to say I think I must have been in a deep sleep because I have no idea how it is July 2017 already!
I am almost certain my youngest daughter only started senior school 5 minutes ago and yet here she is off to her prom
And yes by all accounts that wing was heavy. This is her Hatsune Miku outfit (a japanese vocaloid...I find it easier to smile and agree, otherwise my head hurts....lol)

We are very proud but more so for finding the courage to go to the prom, she suffers from agoraphobia, so going to the prom was a big thing. The fact that she managed to stay for just over an hour is a true acheivement.
It didn't help that someone who was supposed to be a friend told her she was an embarrasment.
But our eldest daughter and her husband, when I told them what happened at the prom started a Facebook appreciation of her, and she got dozens of supportive comments and likes.

BUT when did she get to Prom age.....?????

Last weekend my husband & I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary.....Yes 25 years! How did that happen....lol
I made him a card that I felt represented us and our life together
I got quite brave and stamped the image onto mottled background paper then created a silver underlayer.
"Marriage is a journey and I am so proud to have you as my travel companion"

......yeah yeah I know it's a little bit cheesy but hey......one of us has to be 😁

Here is my lovely man & I at our anniversary dinner

Well, I'm off to bed now.....desparately hoping no-one fast forwards the world again, otherwise I'm never going to catch up

Hugs
