Fantasy

So I am struggling to believe my granddaughter is nearly 5, what !?!?! When did this happen??????????

Luckily, over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we're doing

Fantasy/Myth

You know dragons, witches, fairies, all those kind of things.

Which is perfect when you know a plucky little adveturer who has a birthday coming up very soon.

And of course every lady knight needs sparkly armour

Sparkly Pink armour, of course

And Unicorns always have sparkly mane & tails
A little sparkle gel pen goes a long way.

And of course you need a Dragon
Non-firebreathing kind, naturally

And when you add them all together, you get

Stamps - FTLS - "Unicorn dreams" and "Noble knights & naughty dragons"

Ink - Momentos Tuxedo black

Pens - ProMarkers

Stamped

 Hello lovely peeps

I know it has been a while since my last post, and I'm not ashamed to say it has been rather chaotic here recently. I genuinely didn't know if I was coming or going. But we all have times when nothing seems to fall into place like it normally would.

Anywho...........over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we want to see

Stamped Image

Well, I decided to go whole hog on this one. My images are purely stamped........

The donuts, the icing, the faces and the spiral one in the middle are all stamped. It was ajoy to make as I hadn't had these stamps out in quite a while.

Our wondwerful DT have some truly inspirational examples to share with you all.

Please go leave them some love.

Fur or Feathers

 Hello my lovelies,

Over at Fab'n'Funky challenges the new theme is.........

Fur or Feathers

yes any furry or feathery creature will do as you feature

(Ooow sneaky bit of rhyming there)

This was a true dilema for me, so many stamps (20yr collecting), so much choice, what is a woman to do....................

WINTER SCENE......

yes that's the answer

a wintery scene with wintery creatures....Hmmm

yes absolutely perfect idea...

The surrounding colours had to be light enough to make the robins stand out, and I don't think I did too bad a job.

I didn't blend the leaves quite as well as I could have, but I don't think it's bad.

Stamp - FTLS Robin's Beautiful Bouquet

Inks - Momento tuxedo black, S.U. ceertainly celery

Punch - S.U. Oval 1.75"

Pens - Promarkers:-

Robins - Oatmeal, Burnt orange & Cocoa

Boot - Denim blue, Twilight sky, Tan, Moss & Ice grey5

Flowers - Apple cider, Moss, Budding rose & dusky rose.

Bakers twine was from stash (unsure of how long ago???)

Simple layering technique to build the card.

Remember to drop by and share some love with the wonderful DT's

Back soon.........

Back from summer break with a special

 Hello my lovelies,

I hope you have had a wonderful summer. We are back from our summer break over at Fab'n'Funky challenges and it's our 600th post. YES 600th!!!

And you know what that means, a special post has a special prize.

Yes prize time again, and what is the theme I hear you ask.....well.....

Birthday/Anniversary

Yes we want to see your lovely creations related to birthday or anniversary.

Now I have a favourite computer game and that has a server (multi-player world) which is called Rusty Gears. Now I have not been invited to the Rusty Gears server and I'm not sure my little laptop could cope, but I still love watching the players who are on there. They are amazing builders, so creative.

So I have made this birthday card in homage to those lovely gears

I had forgotten that I had been gifted a metal shim, but I stumbled across it and remembered a TL die I had been eager to use. This beautiful stepper card die. The gear dies are from a variety of makers.

The other thing that helped inspire this card were these

So it was a lot of messy finger fun, but I'm pleased with the results

A little rough up and hey presto, slightly rusty gears.

We would love to see you over at the Fab'n'Funky challenges HERE

Please visit all our Fabulous DT's and leave them some love.

Back soon with more crafty shares and maybe some nerdy fun.

Why not check out the Rusty Gears shinanagans - HERE

It can be a wedding, work, or whatever anniversary, just let your creativity go.

We are celebrating 37yrs of togetherness and 32yrs of marriage. And YES we have driven each other grey LOL.

I was digging through my digital background papers when I came across this lovely blue one and knew it was perfect .

It's a very simple card but it was made with love, and that's what counts

Pop over and leave our lovely DT's some well deserved love.

Stripy C.A.S

 Hello

We have a great new challenge for you over at the Sisterhood of Crafters

Dots and/or Stripes

I will confess now that I went for a very simple and clean design

The striped paper is from an old Tattered lace magazine and the sentiment stamp is from Woodware.

I hope all of you have fun crafting your enteries.

Love to love

Hello my lovelies, it's that soppy time of year again.

Now I'm not being negative about valentines day but I think we all reach a certain age and all the romance has been used up, and we're happy with a takeaway and a video (a film at home).

But our theme over at the Sisterhood of Crafters is

Love

we want you to join us in get all lovey dovey, so show us your soppy side.

I have decided to go simple and understated, with another of my F.T.L.S stampsets.

I found this lovely Heart paper in my stash (I think it's from an old Tattered Lace mag) and decided it was perfect to go with my stampset (F.T.L.S - Essential Overlay Sentiments).

So for "Love" I used S.U. Melon Mambo and for the "lots of" and "& hugs" I used S.U.Rich Razzelberry Inkpads.

Don't forget to drop by the Sisterhood and leave some well deserved love for our fabulous DT

Well, I have to get back to costume making as Japan Day at daughters Uni is in 10 days.

And yes of course I'm going to share all the fun we have. I might even put a link to the fashion show video (if I remember to charge the camera 😉)

New Beginnings

 Good morning

Well it's that time again...........Fab'n'Funky challenges and the theme is...........

New Beginnings

so that could be a New baby/house/job/car???

I dug out one of my lovely WMS stamp set and used a soft neutral colour palette.

The nice thing about this stamp is that the door section is an additional stamp, (house has roofed door plus roofed door stamp).

I felt the neutral palette makes the card universal.

Please check out our lovely DT's inspirational examples....Here  And leave them some love.

Feeling Blue?

 Good morning world

I don't no about your weather but ours has been crazy, last week freezing and now, blowing a gale with downpours....ahhhh the beauty of living on an island (300miles at our widest point)

Well that's enough of that, the Sisterhood of Crafters would like to invite you to go

winter BLUE

yes, let us see your blue side, with a variety of shades

I've tried a little bit of masking with a stencil and then adding a little depth using colour, not sure if I pulled it off. What do you think?

The stencil - Cardio Church Window - you might think these windows are cut out and foam backed BUT no, I traced the the windows, the ran a fineline pen over the pencil line. I then coloured in the background with a Tan promarker, then one the right-hand edge of each I used a Cinnamon then a Cocoa promarker to give depth/shadowing.

The balloons stamp - F.t.L.o.S Birthday Balloons - more masking to get lots of balloons to be passing by the window, the texture stamped in S.U. Pacific point and Tempting turquoise. The balloon strings are free-hand with a fineliner pen.

Sentiment - F.t.L.o.S Essential Overlay sentiments - Happy in S.u. Marina Mist and Birthday in Momentos Tuxedo black, on white cardstock mounted on S.U. Denim blue cardstock (same as lower layer). Mounted to the card with 2mm foam pads.

Our lovely DT have made some inspirational cards, so go over and share some love with them....HERE

Beat it, Eat it, Stamp it.

 Do you remember?

Micheal Jackson told us to Beat it, Weird Al told us to Eat it

and over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we want you to....

Stamp it

Yes we want to see your Stamped images, they can be a  rubber/silicone stamp or a digital stamp.

I have dug out one of my old Woodware stamps for this one...

It called - Three Toadstools

A variety of red, beige and green Promarkers to colour it in.

I used a cloud shaped punch from S.U. for the sentiment, I felt it broke up the rectangular feel of the card.

Please make sure to pop over and share some love with our Fabulous DT's - HERE

I've been working on my daughters costume and we are almost at the end, I can just about see a the light at the end of the tunnel, it's faint but I'm sure it's there   👀   so back soon with a sneak peek

Keep on creating

Chilly

I hope everyone had a super New year.

We don't do the whole party thing, hubby and youngest don't like the noise of parties (that's the beauty of Aspies) but we toast in the new year then pray the fireworks will stop. Easy answer is to put on an old Godzilla film and when I say old I'm not joking, we have the original 1954 film and it's amazing. We have dozens of old Godzilla films that are older than me!!

BUT

we're here to craft are we not. Over at Sisterhood of Crafters we are a little chilly, our theme this time is

Icy Cold

yes we would like to see all your cold creations. I've experimented with paste for this one

Yes I made my own glitter paste, using glue and glitter. Yeah I know that just sounds like gluing then sprinkling glitter but I decided to mix them togeher first and see how it would work with one of my favourite stencils.

Now it dried quite thin, which I think is a good thing, it did leak under the stencil in a few places too.

NOW! The downside, I got glitter everywhere when I started stirring it together. It's going to take a few months to finally get it all vacuumed up 🙄Thank goodness I have a crafting shed to do this experimenting in 😂

But hey, that's what crafting is all about, messy experimenting and have fun.

Please drop by and leave some love for our lovely ladies, HERE

Back soon with more crafting craziness

All wrapped up

So many things to do, so little time......Aaaaaaaaaarrgh!!!!

It's fine....no really it's fine. We have all got this, we're crafters! We can do anything....

I have 4 snowflakes crocheted and I need at least 30 more................I CAN do this..............

Hmm......should I make a red cloak for the card deliveries? If I made the hood deep enough it would garantee nobody sees it's me. Although no-one's spotted me yet, or they haven't said anything thankfully.

Nope, I need to make more wrapping paper, which conviently goes with our challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters

CHRISTMAS

so I have made my wrapping paper by recycling

And then Buffy? I hear you cry...

And once that's done?

And of course the final stage of the process, wrapping the pressies

The secret is to not colour every stamped image.

It's very satisfying to know I've rescued paper and given it a new life, even if it's only briefly. At least some of this wrapping will become a firelighter. Cozy

I apologize for the tiny writing on some of the photos, I underestimated  how small they would look on here.

Our fabulous DT have made some super creations, so go share some holiday cheer with them....Here

Stamp set - FtLoS - Festive Flok Art Stockings & Baubles

Oh Baubles

Oh my baubles, it's almost christmas......

I've not finished my wrapping yet.............ok.......ok.........breath.........there's still a couple of weeks

Just breath................IN 1 2 3.........and OUT 1 2 3....................let's make christmas cards instead......

We are going full Christmas crackdown over at Fab'n'Funky challenges

CHRISTMAS

I know, I know, who needs reminding....

Now if you promise to keep it between us I'll tell you a secret......Promise?
I have to give all my neighbours a christmas card and no I don't know most of them, it's just the idea that someone might not get a single greetings card fills me with dread.

My husband thinks I'm weird but I can't help it. I've been doing it for a few years now.
I know I can't send everyone in my neighbourhood a card, I don't have enough cardstock for that. But I can make sure at least 100 homes get a card.
I also try to put a crochet decoration in some of the cards and I post these to the houses with children.
This year I'm crocheting snowflakes.

And before anyone asks, NO, I don't sign my name. Hell, I don't even put my made by stamp on it.
And as far as I'm aware none of my neighbours blog, so they won't find out.
I'm only confessing my antics to all of you because I figure none of you will think it's weird, PLUS, you're all crafters too, and I'm sure dozens of you do exactly the same thing.

Anyway

Here are the latest batch of cards

I know they are super simple, but they are made with Hugs & Happy Thoughts

And this year they are also made with Nuvo crystal drops.......for the centre piece of the baubles

We had to eat dinner on the sofa because our dining table was covered in drying cards 😂

Our lovely DT have come up with some amazing creations, so pop along and leave them some christmas cheer......Here

Stamp sets - FtLoS Festive Flok Ark - Stockings & Baubles and O Christmas tree.

I wish you all Joy & Peace

Blue Hues

 Hello my lovelies,

so show us your project with lots of different blues.

I went for a mainly ink card, the balloons were stamped then masked off and then the sentiment was added.

Fall Harvest & joining the Sisterhood

Some exciting news, I am now a member of The Sisterhood of Crafters design team.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the email, such a nice surprise.

The challenge this time is

Fall Harvest

(so think autumn or harvest time or combine the two,
all those warm colours and piles of leaves)

Similar to a previous card I made but with a bit more emphasis on harvest time, I created this

Lots of masking on this one, we start with the juicy red apple then mask it.

Next comes the basket of apples then mask.

Lastly the Pumpkin group.

Masks removed and the colouring began.

I then stamped the leaves on a separate piece of card, coloured them in and cut them out.

I layered up using 1mm foam pads.

Please pop over to the Sisterhood and share some love with our wonderful design team, HERE

  • Cardstock - white and S.U. Pumkin pie
  • Stamp - WMS Peace & Plenty
  • Promarkers - Carmine, Crimson, Poppy, Pumpkin, Mango, Apricot, Spice, Pear green, Moss green, Lemon, Tan, Caramel, Cinnamon
  • Ink - Momento tuxedo black

Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates

Weekend of chaos

After a very soggy week, I spent over half the weekend trying to dry my crafting shed out.

Well at least it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been, the roof is still in place.

On the plus side, have washed up all the water leaks it is now very clean.

Still chaotic but clean (youngest daughter keeps threatening to go organise it, it's organised chaos), Hey I basically know where everything is!

Ok Ok so now and then I put something back in the wrong place and then spend weeks trying to find it, BUT, that's when I discover an old stamp set I haven't used in years 😉

I just received news, I passed my college course "Understanding Autism" 💖Woohoo💖

So, how many of you remember me mentioning this back 2020

Well there will be more news to follow shortly

PLUS

I will be revealing something very soon (November)

Spooky season fast approaches

I love this time of year

Pumpkin pie, hot totties and the little children in their halloween costumes, so much fun.

As you may remember I crochetted a little witch and a candy-corn, see here

Well I made a slightly larger candy-corn keyring with eyes

So now on to the card-making, I spotted that The Sisterhood of Crafters had an exciting challenge

Pumpkins!!!

So pleased to be able to put my WMS stampset to good use again, it was getting lonely on the shelf.

Although there is a pumpkin promarker, I used it the least. Apricot, honeycomb a little pumpkin and some moss green helped to give the pumpkins a more rounded appearence. With a tiny pop of white gel pen on top.

The apples are crimson, poppy and cardinal. Pear is lemon, lime green and apple green. Lastly the grapes are plum, orchid and violet.

White and Honeycomb cardstock.

And when you spend quite a bit of time on the card, well then envelope has to have a hint of something

I would also like to enter this card into the following fabulous challenges:

Hope you are all as excited about Halloween as I am.

Keep crafting and smiling

A crochet creation and CAS card

 Hello my lovelies,

I promised to share my latest crochet creation and here she is

I even gave her a candy-corn. My granddaughter ran off with the candy corn but the little witch is sitting in our geocache waiting to be taken to her forever home.

I have also been doing quite a bit of card-making recently. I know there was a time when I would be posting on a regular basis but I lost myself for a while and I couldn't find me or my mojo.

BUT

I'm starting to get back my mojo, it had just been buried quite deep.......SOOOO back to the importantly fun card-making/creating.

I have created this lovely little card for an interesting challenge

They have this intersting colour challenge at CAS Colour & Sketch and I can honestly say I probably wouldn't have put these 3 colours together myself and that's what makes it fun, so without further ado

And yes it's very simple and clean, maybe too simple.

But it has presence and the cloloured hexagons  in this photo seems a lot darker than in real life, I'm going to have to check my camera setting.

So I used my S.U. hexagon punch, S.U. thin oval punch, white cardstock and Tuxedo black ink for the sentiment (which was free on a magazine and about 10yrs old)

Well I still have dozens of christmas cards to make so I will see you soon.

Hugs & Happy thoughts
