Beat it, Eat it, Stamp it.

and over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we want you to....

 

Stamp it

 

Yes we want to see your Stamped images, they can be a  rubber/silicone stamp or a digital stamp. 

I have dug out one of my old Woodware stamps for this one...

It called - Three Toadstools

A variety of red, beige and green Promarkers to colour it in.

I used a cloud shaped punch from S.U. for the sentiment, I felt it broke up the rectangular feel of the card.

I've been working on my daughters costume and we are almost at the end, I can just about see a the light at the end of the tunnel, it's faint but I'm sure it's there   👀   so back soon with a sneak peek

Autumn is coming

I know I haven't blogged in a while but we have had a lot going on, more of that later.

We are fast aproaching cooler days and darker morning/evening which can only mean one thing

 Autumn

And this is our theme over at Fab'n'Fumky challenges

We want to see your lovely designs in  autumnal colours, all those lovely russets, golds/browns/oranges/yellows

I have gone mainly single layer, except the wee boat.

I started with the sun and slowly worked out from there, remebering to add the suns subdued reflection in the water. I blended the colours out to give a subtle autumnal evening feel.

 The hanging leaves were multi-stamped to give depth, I only used three inks as I didn't want to overpower the central theme.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgh I forgot the boat's shadow. I don't believe it 🤦To late now, I posted it half an hour ago😭

I'm going to blame the fact that I have been out of sorts for weeks now. 

We put our youngest daughter on a plane to Japan the other week, she will be at university in Sapporo for the next year. I know she is perfectly capable of look after herself and that she is pretty fluent in Japanese, but it's a big change. Her Uni here is a 2.5 hr drive away, so if she desperately needed something or was really ill it was quite easy to get there.

Before anyone says it I know she'll be fine and I know I have to stop worrying. This is what being a mum is about, teaching your kids to go out into the big wide world. What's that quote...

 "No one said motherhood would be easy, just that it would be worth it"

And well that is true (ok it's not the actual quote but maybe my version is better) 

So I'm going to enter 2 competions next year to try to show myself that I can go out into the big wide world too. (More about those on friday)

Christmas challenge

 We are organising our Christmas card stash over at Fab'n'Funky challenges and I decided to die-cut my heart out to create a little Xmas wreath out of tiny leaf dies. 

Well, I've always been a little nutty 😜

The tiny leaf dies were a freebie from my TL subscription from 2019. It took me a good 20mins to cut the all out and a further 20mins to organise them into something that looked reasonably decent.

The Merry Christmas ribbon has been hiding in my stash for several years, so have the backing papers. 

Simple layering with the upper background papers are on foam-pads, the wreath also has foam-pads on the upper half and glue on the lower edge that is in contact with the raised backing.

The little reindeer has also been in my stash for several years and when I rediscovered him he became the focus of my design for this card.  

I am also happy to point out that this is the first card I have made in my She Shed 😀 The shed isn't quite finished but it's close.

Hearts and Love at Fab'n'Funky

I have gone for a simple easel card, with co-ordinating layers and backing papers. I used Hunkydory FtLoS characters which I coloured in using ProMarkers, The Love & Hearts die-cuts are from my TL advent calendar.

I'm not going to lie, I tried to make them look a little like me & hubby as this is going to be his valentines card. 

Ooow, oh no! I just realised I forgot his glasses. Well I'm off to find my fine-line pen.

Christmas at Fab'n'Funky

 So it might seem a little early but is it ever to early to start making your Christmas cards? At Fab'n'Funky challenges we think 

NO!

One card each month and by Christmas, you have some lovely cards for the ones you love. 

This little fairy will be appearing a lot in my card-making this year, I have decided that she will be trying out different looks.

In this incantation she is a Christmas/Yule fairy, with a red poinsettia and elf coloured outfit.

I coloured her in using ProMarkers.

It's a little hard to tell but the edge of the mushroom and the grass beneath are covered in frost (Sakura clear glitter gel pen).

The snowflakes around the card are from my TL Advent calendar, day 1. Simply cut from white cardstock and took my Sakura clear glitter gel pen to them and added clear glitter gems for extra sparkle.

I have also done a little bit of recycling on this card, the sentiment in the top right was cut out of one of the cards we received.
