and our lovely sponsor is

Bee-cause I like my friends to Bee happy I  created this simply greetings card
This is Happy Buzzer (so cute) you can find it here
I'm very fussy when it comes to bees, most of the time they get depicted as being black and yellow when they are in fact brown and yellowish.

Scapes???

Hello,
we are looking at "SCAPES" over at The Male room this week.

That's right, landscapes, seascapes, whatever type of scape you can imagine.
I have chosen a garden-scape,
To give it a more landscaped feel I layered up different sections. This gives it a bit more depth.
I'm afraid I didn't get a very good angle to show the depth of the layering. I wanted the wall to have a slightly white-washed but aged look, So I used Grey squirrel & Satin Promarkers. I also used muted colours to give it a more masculine feel.

Please remember to pop over and check out all the lovely Design Teams work and leave them some good vibes.

No Mistletoe Just Wine

Hello all,
I've made a lovely little card for my sis-in-law based on 2 challenges:

and
This is another new For the Love of Stamps set - It's Wine O'clock.
The vines are in Emerald envy, grapes in Mint macaron and Wine glass + sentiment in Dapper denim.
I swapped the colours of the vines and grapes on the insert..
She loves a good glass of wine so hopefully she'll love this too.

Off to make the dinner.

Ring ring

Back again with a new challenge card.

Brown Sugar Challenges is going with an "anythings goes" challenge and my daughter needed a card for one of her friends so.....I decided to create this
This is my new step set, For the Love of Stamps - #iluvmyfone. I am now cool....
I double stamped the mobile then cut out the centre of one so the "screen" would be fractionally lower than the body. After colouring it in I used camelion glitter.
The insert needed to be a bit more "in-ya-face"
So I filled it with app symbols. Hopefully it will be a hit.

Kraft Away

Hello again crafty peeps,
or should that be Krafty peeps?!?
We have a great challenge for you over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges this week. We want you to

We want to see use Kraft card or paper somewher in your project...easy peasy!
Our lovely sponsor for this weeks challenges is......
http://www.doctor-digi.com/index.php?route=common/home
The prize is the winner will get 2 digi's of their choice.

 So without further ado....
I knew I had to have this image the moment I saw her. This is Hello Sadoko (Hello Kitty meets Sadoko from The Ring) you can find it HERE
It just felt right that this image would work well with kraft card and it does give it that oriental feel.
Of course no card would be complete without a hint of bling.....hence the subtle coloured gems.

Please pop over and visit our lovely DT at Fab'n'Funky and leave them some positive feedback. It is always gratefully received.

So I thought I would also share with you my other little project. It's my very first attempt at a quilt.
It's not quite finished and I'm not sure if I'm fully happy with it yet. But I also have to stop being so hard on myself and remember it's my first go.

Back soon with more sharing

Science

Hello,
yes I know Science doesn't explain much so.........

Over at The Male Room this week we would like to see your science brain...
http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
Just think back to school/college, what did you do, were you lucky enough to have a wacky out-of-this-world teacher who amazed & dazzled you? Well we want all you mad scienctist ideas.

I have made a fairly simple card.....(bloomin backing paper took me ages to create)
This handsome fellow is Professor Wiggingson you can find him here, he's from the wonderful people at Dr.Digi.
OMG.......I spend ages giggling to myself and desperately trying not to order more of their hilarious stamps.
I've added the backing paper to the DOWNLOAD tab at the top of the page. Just click on the image and save.
I also remembered to give my atoms a little pop....
I added a few crystals to the centres to give them that nice sparkle I believe all atoms have.
Please pop over and visit our lovely DT and leave them some positive vibes.

Talking of positive vibes, my 15 year old daughter was off to a Halloween party the other week and  left her costume plans to the very last minute. Did she just buy an off-the-shelf one....OH NO!!! She had to be a character from an anime (sort of). She wanted to be Giffany!!
So in a 2 hour rush-job I managed to whip up a skirt from scratch. When I say from scratch I literally mean all I had was 2metres of blue fabric and a prayer!!!
BUT.....
I managed it. It's hard to see on the piccie but the front also has pleates. Only 2, but their there. It also has an elasticated waistband (I had some elastic in my sewing box...thank god)
The overall look....
She was slightly frustrated that mummy's vast craft collection didn't have a Rainbow Ribbon for her hair.
So the positive vibe is....I'm Bloody Brilliant!!! ;-)
And I have a very grateful  daughter

Who better give me more notice next year!!!!!

Back soon with more amazing me...lol

Zingy Little Number

My husband has never been a pudding fan BUT.........
a zesty lemon meringue pie is a completely different story. Today, god bless him, he helped me make it by whisking the egg whites (my electric whisk died). I enjoy making lemon curd because I give it a little bit of a zesty punch by adding 1tblsp of fresh grated root ginger.
I actually got a little carried away and made enough to jar up and put in the fridge.
So lemon curd on toast for breakfast tomorrow.

I can truly say there is something deeply satisfying about making a special treat for my husband.
(Oops...I forgot we're not allowed to say things like that anymore are we.......feminist tosh)

Well back to other projects for now

My shear cheekiness will be warmly welcomed............along with a pint of their favourite poison of course!
Well, off to put the finishing touches to another project.

Space and Beyond

Hello, we have a great little challenge for you over at The Male Room . For the next couple of weeks  the theme;

STAR TREK (or any other space series)

Why Star Trek? Well, it's because I'm a huge science-fiction fan and because the franchise is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. I started watching the show as a kid in the 60s and I love it. I've just seen the latest Star Trek movie by JJ Abrams and highly recommend it. And because many guys really like sci-fi programmes.

You don't have to stick to Star Trek inspired ideas - and there are thousands from the various TV shows and movies - you can base your space series (science fiction) project on any series from Star Wars, Stingray, Dr Who, Twilight Zone, Stargate, Falling Skies, Six Million Dollar Man, Superman, Quantum Leap, Arrow - and this list goes on!! If your inspiration is not immediately clear, do tell us what show you've picked.

My choice is the best space series to have ever exist. And making cards for small people well.....
Soup Dragon, from the Clangers, the greatest souper hero ever
yeah yeah terrible sense of humour.....can't help it

I have to confess that I am a big trekie at heart but I have the Clangers saved on my digi box. I'm hoping to crochet a clanger one day when I've got my other projects finished.

Well, I have a baby blanket to finish (my neighbours will be 1st time grandparents next month).
I also have a couple of little owls that need stuffing so I can send them off into the geocahing world.

Please remember to leave comments on the design teams blogs

Fab'n'Funky in the great Outdoors

A very good morning to all,

I am hostess this week over at Fab'n'Funky challebges and I have a wonderful challenge for you.

Go Outside
Yes, we want you to go outside and let nature inspire you creation
I have created a collage of my travel photos to help get you going.
(the waterfall shot was me attempting to locate a geocache to no avail, so I settled for a photo)
I hope it gives you some ideas

Our lovely sponsor this week is
Lacy sunshine

The prize is 3 digi images

I had millions of ideas but nothing seemed right, then I remembered
I have several reading-mad friends and so I decided to make one of them a bookmark.
I've kept it simple, the book should always be more than the mark. She loves nature and mythical creatures so hopefully this will be a real hit.

Please remember to stop by all our lovely ladies blogs and leave them some love.

Scottish Highlands

Hello from Scotland,
This is the beautiful Glen Affric, a peaceful and majestic landscape. It is a stones throw from the village of Cannich (our favourite place to retreat to). My trendy walking poles are a godsend, no way I'd have made it to this spot without them. Further down the glen is a spot called Kite Rock, where we were fortunate enough to see the golden eagles that were nesting over the hills. I wasn't able to get a good enough photo, I think I may have to consider a bigger lens.

A beautiful break

It took us quite a while to get up here but we made it. The highlands of Scotland are one of the few places I feel fully at home. I seem to be able to relax here, so although the journey up was painful and I had a large dose of codiene sulphate in my system, it was worth it.
(For those who don't know, I fell down the stairs a few weeks ago and have been unable to sit down for very long. I am due to have an MRI scan in two weeks.)
I have seen a Red Kite for the first time and we are fairly sure we saw the Golden eagles in Glen Affric. I tried to get a photo but I'm not sure how clear it is.
I will post photo's when I get a good signal.

Marbled mayhem

Hello
we have an exciting challenge over at The Male Room
"Use Shaving Foam"

Yes it might sound a little bizzare but we want you to use it. Please note you need shaving FOAM not gel, gel is too slimy (but quite interesting in it's own right, I'll share soon)

So here is my creation using shaving foam
It was great fun creating the marbled effect and not as messy as I expected it to be.

Check out the other design team memebrs creations and leave some love, it's always appreciated.

Fab'n'Funky Summer Special

Good Morning all
Over at Fab'n'Funky we have a new challenge for you.......

Our challenge this week is

Anything Goes

We're on our Summer break during this challenge to give the DT girls some much needed time when lots of holidays and kids and sun (!) and everything summer is going on we will be taking a commenting break and our challenge will last for 3 weeks - so you have until 6th September to enter the challenge!
This week our lovely sponsor is

KennyK Stamps
| Clear and Digi Stamps for Card Making, Scrapbooking & Paper Crafts
who are offering a great prize of 3 digis to our winner this week

Here is my little bit of inspiration, I've unusually used a pre-coloured digi stamp
This is the Elf Queen. It was strange to use a pre-coloured stamp but you have to try something new now and again, don't you.
It was an interesting experience and I think I will invest in the uncoloured version.

Please remeber to check out our lovely design teams blogs and share a little love, it is always very appreciated.

I'm also entering this lovley lady int the following challenges

I will be back soon with a wooly surprise.

Sporty

Hello again all
we have a very interesting challenge for you over at The Male Room

Yes, sports is the name of the game. I happen to have a golf mad brother-in-law so my card is based on his passion. Plus it's his birthday very soon........so perfect timing

He's not much for fuss so I made a simple card.
The flag-pole is hand drawn using a white marker pen and the hole was done with my black fineline pen.

The stamp is from LOTV - Playing Golf. I used an array of promarkers to colour it. The green background is simply a bit of card from my stash (can't remember the name).

I made a little mistake, I had grabbed and stuck down the grey strips before I realised I had cut some sandy coloured strips. So unfortunately my bunkers are a bit bonkers.

Please visit all our lovely ladies at The Male Room and remember to leave them some good vibes.
