Holiday Tutorial Time

Hello and welcome to our second annual Holiday Tutorial Time.

Last year we went through the "masking" technique. This time we are doing CAS, for those of you new to card-making CAS stands for Clean And Simple.

Some purist might say it also has to be one layer, it definitely doesn’t. It just has to have a lot of unused space.

So let's begin:

You will need:-

Stamping blocks, stamps/sentiment, Inkpads, Markers/pencils/crayons, card-blank, A4 white card, scissors, double-sided tape/foam-pads, blending pads, stencil, and a HUGE sense of fun

Don’t worry if you don’t have a shop-bought stencil

Here I show you a range of stencil, the top left I bought, the top right was free on a magazine, but my absolute favourite is the bottom stencil which I made myself. You can probably tell that it is well used and loved.

The first thing we will do is use our stencil

Use your low tack tape to hold it in place and prevent ink getting onto the card where it isn't wanted.

Ink up your sponge/dauber/foam and gently rub over your stencil.

You should have something that looks a bit like this. Now before you remove your stencil we will add our sentiment in the same colour ink.

You could just use a black ink for the sentiment, but I like to colour coordinate.

Believe it or not you could just stop there. Or add a few gems

So that could be card one

But I said we would do the topper card, so let's go...

So now that we have our card base, we are going to stamp our topper (the decoration that will sit on top of the card)

Now colour in your stamped image. I am using ProMarkers, but you can use whatever you have. Pencil crayons are great for beginners or young children.

Then cut them out (daughter doing a little hand modelling here)

If you have sticky foam-pads the stick them to the back of the cut-outs, if you do not have foam-pads then double-sided tape or glue will do.

Find your ideal spot on your card and stick down your toppers.

Hey presto a lovely CAS card, with or without toppers.

Here’s a little secret, the card itself does not have to be white, yeah I know, how about that.

All Sorts of Christmas Challenges

What a Christams!?!?!?!?
Half the house laid up with flu, half the presents not wrapped....But hey ho, we're still here and fitting back πŸ‘Œ
At least we got a fully plastered wall for christmas, I can't stop singing the builderes praises enough. They gave us back Christmas.
A little bit of news...the forensics came back and the police came to take our statements again. Hopefully the driver will now come to justice.

Now for some fun crafty stuff...

Firstly I have a christmas card to share with you...

I am entering this little card into the
I kept it nice and simple. I loved the effect silver and white on kraft. I used Ice Grey promarker to highlight the edges of the petals and went over it with a sakura clear stardust pen (unfrtunately it didn't show in the photo). The greeting was stamped in smokey slate then overwritten with a silver pen.

Now I'm sure no one wants to sing christmas songs now BUT lets finish off the Advent calendar shall we....
" In the -- Advent window
my calendar gave to me

(21) One glass of Bubbly

(22) A cute fluffy bunny

(23) A quick boot up the backside

(24) A blurry special greeting

And (25) an exploding bottle of bubbly

The minute my camera batteries are fully recharged I shall share all my little creations (DOH!)

Now, I said I would be giving away some candy in the New Year and I meant it. There will be 2 prize candies - One for UK/Ireland and the other Worldwide.
The main candy post will follow in a few days time.
To be in with a chance of winning you will have to follow my blog then leave a quick message in the comments box and of course click on the linky - Adding your Name/Nickname - UK/Ire or World.

Just to wet your appetite here is a sneak peek at one of the 2 candies
Please note; the pink cutting mat is not part of the prize.

So come back in a few days to see the main prizes and all the Linky goodness πŸ˜€

See you soon

Mono Mayhem

Good evening
I am so tired right now it beyond belief. But a womans work is never done......
Especially when you have a very interesting 15yr old who's big on amine and dressing up.

Yes I did say a 15yr old who likes dressing up, you weren't imagining things. My youngest daughter's current costume of choice is to dress-up as Monokuma..........yeah if she hadn't show me an episode I'd be scratching my head too.
This charming little fellow is Monokuma, he's truly lovely..........isn't he?!?
He is in charge of a private school where students are expected to take-out their fellow students without being detected..............No I think it's weird too but hey ho, it's amine.

She presented me with a white and black vest top, the only demand was "Please get it the right way round, Pleeaassseee"
So from this:
To this:
Not my greatest costume triumph but thankfully my easiest.

I guess it's her prom dress next......

Did I mention she's doing her make-up to look like him too? Yeeeeaaaaaaah.......

Now all I need is some greek god to bath me and feed me grapes then masage my feet and tell me I'm a goddess..............

What....we all have to dreamπŸ˜‡
Back soon

A Cheeky Peek

I mentioned I was creating a pram blanket for my neighbours daughter.
Well it's not finished yet but I thought I'd give you a quick peek

It's coming along quite nicely and I shall reveal all hopefully the end of next week.
I hope that has engaged your interest.

Hint, close your eyes and die cut

Hello,
I'm sure the title of this post will be made clear in a moment....
So a 3 challenge card
Hence the strange post title...hint(of colour), close your eyes(the stamped image on my card) and die cut....
and now without further ado.....
I rotated the sketch, for my hint of colour I distressed the edges of my die-cut shapes with blushing bride inkpad. To give the white more depth I decided to emboss it with my brand new M-Bossabilities EG-002 [put a few of these on my list for Santa ;) ].
This is one of my favourite LOTV stamps it's called "Close your Eyes"
and as you can see, she is.

I used ProMarkers to colour the image and went over the sentiment stamp with the Stampin Write blushing bride pen as it was a little too pale on it's own.
The lace was sitting in my stash.

Time for bed me thinks

Bloomin internet

Well ladies, I had created this following card with the intention of entering it in the WMSC57, but unfortunately due to our lack of up/download limit remaining I was not allowed to put it up.
But here it is and I hope you like it

Oh well, maybe next time

Red Orange and White

This little card was created for two challenges, unfortunately I have missed one of them.
The challenges were:

  • Card patterns Sketch 114
  • The Play Date Cafe challenge # 80
I have missed the Play Date challenge, but I'm entering it into the card patterns challenge still.

I used red ink around the edges and for the sentiment, a free orange paper for the scallop, butterfly and background and red textured paper behind the butterfly.
