You just need:

  • 6 circles (all the same size)
  • Glue/double-sided tape
  • String/ribbon

Christmas is coming

 Hello

So this week over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges we are thinking about

CHRISTMAS

That's right, with only 10 weeks left until the big day, we just have to think about all those cards.
Especially if you have loved ones in far off places. Those Last Post dates will be here in no time.

There is also the important job of ensuring all Eggnog ingredients are present and correct 😉

But now for the important sharing part, I've gone all 3D with this little project.
I used the Sizzix Thinlits 661555

It starts Life as a flat card basically
But when you stand it up
Add a tealight
(please note:- As this is a paper project only a small electronic tealight is safe)
And it becomes something much more magical

I have coated the snowflakes and sentiment in iridescent glitter to give them a frosty feel.
For the open panel sections I used iron-on interfacing from my sewing stash (I knew it had more uses 😉) and just glue it around the edges.

Remember to leave some love for all the love DT's

Christmas card

 Hello again lovely peeps,

We are celebrating with Christmas cards over at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week.

I don't like being the bearer of bad news but Christmas is fast approaching, there are only 90 days until the big day 😲 Scary!!

A sweet little stamp from LOTV. I've gone for a Blue colour theme.

The squares in the corners are foam mosaic tiles I found in a little tub in my loft, I have absolutely no idea where I got them but I reckon they have been up there for at least 10yrs (so ashamed).

Back soon with more sharing

Holiday Tutorial Time

Hello and welcome to our second annual Holiday Tutorial Time.

Last year we went through the "masking" technique. This time we are doing CAS, for those of you new to card-making CAS stands for Clean And Simple.

Some purist might say it also has to be one layer, it definitely doesn’t. It just has to have a lot of unused space.

So let's begin:

You will need:-

Stamping blocks, stamps/sentiment, Inkpads, Markers/pencils/crayons, card-blank, A4 white card, scissors, double-sided tape/foam-pads, blending pads, stencil, and a HUGE sense of fun

Don’t worry if you don’t have a shop-bought stencil

Here I show you a range of stencil, the top left I bought, the top right was free on a magazine, but my absolute favourite is the bottom stencil which I made myself. You can probably tell that it is well used and loved.

The first thing we will do is use our stencil

Use your low tack tape to hold it in place and prevent ink getting onto the card where it isn't wanted.

Ink up your sponge/dauber/foam and gently rub over your stencil.

You should have something that looks a bit like this. Now before you remove your stencil we will add our sentiment in the same colour ink.

You could just use a black ink for the sentiment, but I like to colour coordinate.

Believe it or not you could just stop there. Or add a few gems

So that could be card one

But I said we would do the topper card, so let's go...

So now that we have our card base, we are going to stamp our topper (the decoration that will sit on top of the card)

Now colour in your stamped image. I am using ProMarkers, but you can use whatever you have. Pencil crayons are great for beginners or young children.

Then cut them out (daughter doing a little hand modelling here)

If you have sticky foam-pads the stick them to the back of the cut-outs, if you do not have foam-pads then double-sided tape or glue will do.

Find your ideal spot on your card and stick down your toppers.

Hey presto a lovely CAS card, with or without toppers.

Here’s a little secret, the card itself does not have to be white, yeah I know, how about that.

Christmas in Spring

Hello all,

It might be the end of April but we at Fab'n'Funky challenges are getting ready for that time of year,

Christmas
(We want to see all your christmassy creations)

I used a Woodware stamp - Bubble Christmas Tree and a sentiment from WMS (I miss waltzing mouse stamps)
It's quite difficult to see on this photo but I used a Sakura sparkle gelly roll pen (green) for all the bubbles
Layers are a nice way of adding a little bit of depth and I used a black layer to tie in with the black on the tree image and the sentiment.
I toned down and simplified this card by using green glitter-card from my stash to make the background pop. I have basically tried to make it as masculine as possible. One of our friends is determined to stay a single man...😁

Please pop over and give our lovely team some well earned love

May your day be Furry and Bright

Hello again,

So this week over at Fab'n'Funky challenges we are thinking about

CHRISTMAS

Yeah yeah, it's only June

June?!?! Already?!?

Where has the year gone?

Yes we would love to see your christmassy creations.
I am pleased to say this challenge has meant I have another stamp-set that has now been christened. I know I know, hanging my head in shame for the quantity of "For the Love of Stamps" stamp-sets waiting to be loved. But I reckon over the next month we can turn that around

But back to the important part..........Sharing
This is "Furry and Bright" set, the whole set is adorable but \I thought |I would just start with the deer and save the other cuddly creatures for another card. I used the masking technique to create the border (Cardio Majestic - Festive Fir Cones)

Our lovely design team always enjoy your creations and your feedback, so pop over and give them some love. Don't forget to enter.

Oh Baubles to it

Back again

We have a fabulous challenge for you over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.
So this week we want you to think
"Christmas"
So trees, pressies, baubles or Santa. Whatever makes Christmas for you.

I have had this fabulous bauble stamps set for a few months but not gotten round to using it.

I can honestly say I wished I'd used it sooner, it has so many possibilities. I have gone for a cool frosting toned theme.

I'm slightly disappointed with my photo as it is a little dark, and you can't really see the glitter gel I used on them.

Visit our lovely design team and leave them some good vibes. Fab'n'Funky

There is something so soothing  about sitting down to colour in something you've just stamped.

This is my first self-check, "Take the time to create something"

Think about how it makes you feel when you finish a card, the satisfaction of seeing your finished card and knowing the happiness it will bring someone.

Christmas Fun

Hello happy crafters
So this week we are having a just for fun week over at Fab'n'Funky challenges. We would like to see your brand new

"Christmas Creations"

Yes, that time of year is quickly approaching and we are all frantically checking our christmas lists are complete, the turkey is ordered, uncle Bob's favourite cushion is plumped, aunty Gwin's favourite tipple is in the cupbaord and of course that we have enough wrapping paper to cover a cathedral.

As I searched through my stamps collection for seasonal inspiration I rediscovered this little chap
Unfotunately this will also be the last time he ever gets used. I have owned him for over 6 years and he sadly fell into a couple of pieces after I stamped his image 3 times (cried like a baby). I shall of course be scouring the internet to find him as he is one of my favourite stamps (doesn't help I lost his packaging).

So for the finally time here is Santa's Little Helper
Such a cute little face

Please pop over and give our lovely design team some seasonal cheer.

First Christmas card for 2018

But his week we are celebrating christmas over at Fab'n'Funky challenges.
Our lovely ladies have been working hard to spread some holiday happy, with wonderfully inspiring Christmas creations.

"First card of the year Buffy!!" I here you shout
Yes, I know I'm very late starting my cards, I can assure you I am hanging my head in shame.

So here in a little card I whipped up
These adorable little guys are from my Waltzing Mouse Stamps collection.
I really miss WMS shop, it was my go-to-place for choosing pressies for my Christmas Wish-list. Think hubby may miss it to as it made his life so much simpler

Please excuse the piccie, my husband has run off with our little camera for some job he's doing and I have never been very good at taking piccies with my mobile.

I have nearly finished tweaking my next SnC cutting file, a litttle bit steampunk-ish

Christmas is coming

Hello, so this week at Fab'n'Funky challenges we are preparing for christmas.

Our lovely sponsor this week is

For the following projects I have used the digistamp - Poinsetta candles
#
I started with a nice traditional colour pallette

Red, green and gold, those wonderful christmas staples. And of course a die-cut poinsetta.

But then I couldn't resist shaking it up a bit

I decided on a 2 colour pallette with a hint of glitter-gel pen.
I used:
Ink - creamy caramel and brocade blue.
  Pen - denim and tan
  Die - Peach sorbet rectanlges
and a bow punch

Waiting in for the builders to arrive was quite inspirational.

Please pop over to Fab'n'Funky blog and leave our lovely ladies some festive vibes.
We always love to hear your comments and to see your fabulous projects.
