Up for a challenge

Hello!
Well, it's been a little while since I entered a card challenge.
But with my sister-in-laws birthday being next week I figured it was time to get back into card-making mode.
So I have created a quick and simple 2 challenge card

I chose to make a colour layers card, with simple clean lines and minimum stamping.

I used SU card stock, daffodil delight, perfect plum, gumball green and pumpkin pie.
The feather stamp is from the "Fine feathers" set.
The ink is SU daffodil delight and perfect plum

I am currently attempting to crochet myself a cardigan, but I'm not happy with the pattern. So I guess it's a case of design from scratch......eek!

Another quick peek at a holiday pic
We met this handsome little creature in the mediterainian Biome at the Eden project.
Probably a good thing our son wasn't with us.........
It was a gorgeous place and full of interesting plants and exhibits.
The food was amazing too

Back soon

Celebrate!!

Good evening

It's hard to believe but I have been a non-smoker for 2 years

WOOHOO!!!!

I am very pleased with myself and will keep encouraging friends to quit too.

Another holiday snap to share
a pair of Egrets near Looe

On a different note;-
Our local rail depot (Etches Park) had an open day, so we dragged Mawgan along kicking and screaming (well she a misery face on till she spotted the ice-cream).
There was a re-railing demo (not often rail staff are allowed to derail a vehicle). It was quite interesting, although Mawgan was disappointed they weren't using the rail-crane.
We watched them turn wheels on the lathe.

But this was my favourite from the day
This model was amazing, the detailing is truly admirable. It is actually a model of the first diesel loco built in Britain, but more importantly, the first diesel built here in Derby.

Well, now that I have bored you with nerdy train stuff I shall go get some much needed sleep.
Back soon with our Eden Project adventure

Quick Update

Goodness, it's been a while since my last post.

So, we have been for a lovely holiday in Cornwall. We stayed in Polperro.

Here Mawgan and Graham are checking out some rockpools
Mawgan managed to spot this tiny chap sitting on some seaweed
But what really made her day was when we came across this place in Looe
Not often you see the correct spelling.
It was a wonderful holiday. It's been so long since we had a proper getaway. Graham and I even got to do a bit of geocaching.
We also visited the Eden project, it was amazing. Although the rainforest biome is not for the faint hearted, while we were there it hit 26 degrees celcius with 90% humidity. We also had to dodge the T-Rex that was running around scaring little kids.

But it wasn't all sun and sand, I managed to whip up a Beanie & Booties set for one of the girls at work

Her sister had a little boy, so I rushed to add the blue edging and little anchor.

Well, it's been a long day and there is still one work day left this week.....

Good Night

Freshly Made Card and

What a fab weekend!!!
I have managed to get to Dabblers, finish the share squares I'm making for Kimmy on Ravelry, make several flowers for an upcoming yarn-bomb and............

make a card for the Freshly Made Sketch competion
our brother-in-laws birthday is the same day as mine, so no excuses for forgetting..and here is my take on the sketch:
Inks - SU Cherry cobbler, SU Crumb cake, SU Sandstone
Card - White, SU Cherry cobbler & Kraft
Stamps - WMS Gingham&Co, Chronology(free set from mag)

I had thought of using golf clubs but discovered I didn't have a stamp. I was sure I had one...oh well!

I thought I would also share my yarn-bomb flowers with you

I have inset a different angled image of each flower to give a better sense of one. The top 2 flowers is are Dahlias and the bottom one is a Damask Rose
I am very pleased that I finished the share squares I was doing for Kimmy.

She asked for blues or grey, so I hope she likes the blues I picked.
I decided to use the ferris wheel pattern because she said it was for her husband.

Well back to the hook & yarn and whip up a few more flowers

Hugs
