25 March 2015 Press Day

We will soon be returning to this event again this year but I thought I would share last years with you first

A short sweet post today.
I want to share a few photos from our lovely day at Donington Park yesterday. It was Graham's treat, a day off to go to the BTCC press release.

We got a peek at Gordon Sheddons Honda for this year season.

Quite difficult to get a good shot when you're trying to squeeze between very tall photo journalists

They open the site to the public at midday and I can safely say we have never seen it so busy

Once the crowds died down we went for another walk round and I had a crash. I hadn't spotted Steve Neal (father of BTCC driver Matt Neal) and we basically collided. Very embarassing

We then decided to wander round the track to watch testing.

Here is one of the drivers I will be cheering for this year, Gordon Sheddon. Unfortunately there were a few clouds around.
But there was plenty of sun. Graham enjoying sunshine and race cars, the perfect man birthday treat
My BTCC hero unfortunately had a few engine problems.

Sweet Strawberry

Hello everyone
I have made a card for my sister-in-law Carole based on our challenge this week at -

This week our

This cute digi stamp is called Strawberry Houses.

I know my bow is not conventional but it's a strawberry bow with a nice green stalk and few seeds (tiny yellow buttons)
I know my sis-in-law isn't a girly girl but I think this is just about right.

I hope you will come and join us and I really look forward to seeing everyones designs.
Keep Crafting

New way to craft

Firstly...I can share my secret with you all now but we can discuss that after I share this with you;
I know lots of people use digital stamps all the time but I have never really tried.....BUT....I found a gorgeous digital stamp and used it to create another card for another one of my daughters friends.
Here it is

This flower is so fab. I spotted it on the Stitchy Bears Digital Outlet.
It's called - Funky Flower.
I love the fact that I can change the size to whatever I want.
Plus it's always fun to find something new you hadn't tried before.
I used a kraft envelope for the triangle and strip.
LOTV Sophisticated Sentiments.

Love this Funky Flower
I have decided to enter my creation into the:

I wouldn't normally say this but I will be so glad when I finish work Friday evening - the weekend can't come quickly enough.
Although deputising for my boss for a couple of days has been a pleasant enough time.
I think it's the sudden drop in temperature (cycle gear isn't the warmest clothing...) and the fact that my new craft storage trolley showed up damaged

I had been so excited when I got home from work and then I took the wrapping off and found this...

On the plus side, I contacted them and they are going to arrange collection and deliver me an undamaged one.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to share some piccies of it soon

I am now a member of the design team for
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges......woohoo
The ladies there are amazing designers and I feel very privileged to have been chosen

I shall be back soon

Men!!!

They can be the hardest people to make a card for............
I almost forgot one of my work colleague's birthday........sinful!
But I put my nose to the grindstone and came up with the perfect card for him, so I'm entering it into 2 challenges;

The Male Room

CASology

So for his birthday card, I used a decorating theme as he bought his first house not long ago
I've gone for a very simple cleanish look. This stamp is one of my more recent acquisitions and I think he's quite sweet.
Stamps - LOTV Lick of Paint and WMS Compact Sentiments
Colour - Various Promarkers and SU inkpad Not Quite Navy
Some wood effect backing paper from my stash

I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out.
Well, I better finish typing up this recipe before my eldest starts calling for my blood...lol

Oh yes, I have a secret and I promise to share it soon

Choices, choices

Good evening

I've made my brother-in-laws card. I've decided to enter it into the ABC Challenge
He's not a gardening guru but he does like to potter about a bit so I thought this stamp was perfect.
Plus I couldn't wait any longer to use this cute stamp. I also had a few metal charms in my stash that were longing to be used.

Stamps - LOTV Vegetable Patch, LOTV Simply Sophisticated  & WMS Lil Buddies
Dies - Tattered Lace Hexagons & Tattered Lace Floret Blossom
Colouring - Various Promarkers
Adhesives - Pinflair & Redtape

I'm also going to share with you a slightly blurry photo I took a couple of hours ago.

This slightly blurry fluff ball is a Robovoski  dwarf hamster and she belongs to our youngest daughter.

This fluff ball is called Nibbles and she really does live up to her name.

I just couldn't resist getting a piccie of her in her blurry eyed state, trying to munch on a hamster treat.

Well off to write up my meatloaf recipe, I promised our eldest that I'd write it down for her so she can teach her brother-in-law how to make it. I'll convert it to a PDF and put it in my Downloads, when I've completed it.

Friends forever birthday

My youngest asked me to create a card for her friend Chloe. They have been friends since they were 4yrs old at nursery school. Although they are now 14 soon to be 15, it doesn't stop them being little girls at heart.

I'm enterting it into two challenges;
Knowing Chloe for so long I just know she will love the fun colourful nature of this card. Trying to get the hair colour right was a little bit of a challenge.

Gorguss stamp, LOTV sentiment, Lite&mid blue glitter card,
Tattered Lace Elaganza and Rainbow backing paper, Nuvo crystal drops and various Promarkers.
And as shown in this little photo, SU Bow Punch.
I have a mini clothes peg that I use to hold the bow sections together whilst the glue dries.

The rain let up just long enough the other day so my husband and I could have a little walk through our local woods.

We happened across this little fellow, not one of my best photos.

I've got another card to make as my brother-in-laws birthday is only a few days away and Mawgan has asked for another card for another friend.
Aaah, a mum's work is never done..... ;-)
Back soon
