New technique

I have never tried making an easel card before, but hey if you don't try you'll never know, right.
So here is my first attempt.

The photo didn't come out too well.

I used a square card blank as a base, free background paper and gold mirror card for the easel section and from a scrap bit of paper, cut out a one of the flowers for the support.
I used momento Bamboo leaves and Cottage ivy green to decorate the base. I also coated a few of the flowers with glossy accents (but it's a little hard to see).

I now have a valentine's card to prepare, so best get on with it.

New cards

I've finally got back in to the swing of things.
Here are a few of my recent creations.

Time for Cake
I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.
The cupcakes were a bit of a problem to start with, but then I remember a demo I saw about using pinflair glue to layer elements.

Butterfly Just for You
I recent purchased this fabulous butterfly die-cutter (Marianne) and just couldn't wait to use it.
I have also started a design/ideas book, I was inspired by my dear friend Deborah who wouldn't be without hers. I'm sure it will soon go everywhere with me, just like my camera.

Hope you like my designs

On the early shift tomorrow, so, time to get ready for bed.

How long?

I have just realised that I have not photographed and displayed any of my recent card designs.
I will have to make the effort.
Slap my wrist.

A beautiful walk

Completely fed up of being stuck in the house, I dragged my husband and daughter out to the local country park. It made a wonderful change.

Pleased

I am rather pleased!
I think I have managed to find a job for my lab partner.
It is only a couple of miles away from our present lab and they offer further training and promotion for the right candidate.
When I showed him the advert he seemed very keen and he has sent off for an application.
I know he is perfect for the job and I can only hope the company think he is too.
He really deserves a break.
Looking at the closing date, I recon the actual job will start just as we are made redundant.

New Year

Here we finally are, 2011. Most of us will probably spend the next few months trying to remember to write 2011, I know I will.....
Spending new years eve with the one you love, what could possibly be better.
Never mind big parties with lots of people, cuddling up to the one person you have dedicated your life to, that is the only party anyone needs.

Here is hoping all my wonderful friends had a lovely xmas and a loving & intimate new year, may this year bring you even more joy than the last xx
