She Passed

My daughter passed her driving test.....WOO HOO!!! 
She's never been a girly-girl and really does like fuss so the challenges at

And

 Crazy 4 Challenges - #324 sketch







I knew what to make, something simply and clean and slightly understated - just like she'd want

 I went through several different fonts to find the one I thought best suited this modest celebration. I carefully added a tiny amount of black ink to the edges of the L-plate befroe I ripped it, purely to make it stand out from it's white background. The road is some textured black card with a chalk pen to make the road-markings.

The inside had a bit more of congrats from us to her.

This was a very fun stamp to work with, I found some Neon Sharpies...yes NEON!

Some bright Doodlbug paper I had in my stash

A simple design with maximum colour impact but still masculine.

Well, I applied for the Analyst Supervisor job at work and there's only 2 days left till interview day.

 I can't remember the last time I felt this nervous.

All I can think is to just go in and be me and if that's not enough then that's not enough.

Still doesn't stop the nerves though.

Friday was a bit of a sad day at work.
Although we had known our Manager was leaving it didn't make it any easier.
I made his card and managed to get loads of people to sign it.

I would have joined in with last weeks "Fab'n'Funky Space Race" but I couldn't risk him seeing his card before the presentation.
Why would he see you cry? Elementary my dear Watson, the cheeky beggar reads my Blog!! LOL
(Hello trouble, ice-cream with the family at Bluebells in a couple of months?)

A great night was had by all.

Another masculine birthday

Well that's another birthday taken care of and I think he liked his card. The ladies will soon start having birthday at work, so back to frills and flowers soon. But for the moment it's just been the men.

I have used one of my recent-ish purchases from LOTV

 Sorry my photo isn't too good but I only remembered to take a piccie as I was on my way out of the door.
I like this stamp because it's ageless.

And the little dog is quite cute too.

I used a simple and reasonably clean design so the image could be the focus of the card. The corner foliage and Happy Birthday are from the Tattered Lace starter pack.

All Creatures Great and Small

Hello again,

this week at Fab'n'Funky Challenges we are celebrating "all creatures great and small" with our sponsor

And here is a very sweet digi stamp called "Having Tea"

 I decided on a fairly simple design because I didn't want to take the attention away from our little friends.
An oval die, I felt, gave the best frame shape for this image. Gives it a coziness.
I just added a few simple die-cuts and a two-tone ribbon.
