A few challenges more

I've have a new card to share with you all. I created it with these challenges in mind

This is the HSS sketch but it lent itself so well with the Cardz4Guys "clean and simple" but also the monochrome challenge set by Left of Centre Creative

I decided to go with shades of grey, sorry ladies but only 4 shades here.
I also decided to go old-school and hand cut my ovals.

I've used one of my favourite ols stamp sets from WMS, a variety of grey promarkers, momento tuxedo black inkpad and some dark grey card I had in my stash.
I stuck quite strictly with the sketch as the minimalist effect really helped the image pop.

The Male Room

Hello all,

I have some exciting news....I have been invited to join the design team for "The Male Room Challenge Blog"
I was very honoured when I was asked and almost stammered my reply. Which was an emphatic YES!

So the challenge we have this week is:
Yes, Buttons we want to see them on your project.
Here is my take on this interesting challenge:
I've used buttons for the blossom centres and the steam-punkish owls eye

I know I have several different varieties of leaves on one tree.

But that's the way I roll...

They always say variety is the spice...

I love this little guy, part machine/ part owl.

"Steampunk Owl" from Lacy Sunshine

I like the fact that it can be used for masculine or feminine cards

Unfortunately you can't really see the glitter pen I used on the grey sections, to give it a more metal/masculine look.

Please remember to drop by and leave some love for all the talented DT members.......

1,2,3 and Bumpsy daisy

Hello all,

I have had a rather uncomfortable weekend. Friday morning I ended up at the bottom of our stairs the quick way.
Yes I missed several steps (about a half of them) and landed with a very hard thud on my coccyx.
Needless to say sitting has proved an interesting challenge.

But on a cheery note, I discovered this photo I took last year. I named the pic "Cromford Stegosaurus"
We had been walking along the cromford canal when I spotted it on the opposite bank. All the years we've been for a stroll along there and we'd never seen it before.

Well, it's getting late

Shape Me This OR Not square

Hello again from busy little B.
What a hectic weekend I had. Really need to finish my friend Dawns Union Jack sugar bowl cover. Managed to get the crochet bit of it finished, now I just need to get the lining right.

And who gave it permission to rain?

But nevermind all that for now. It wednesday so that means challenge day.
We have a great little challenge for you at Fab'n'Funky this week.

this weeks challenge is:

Shaped cards

NO squares or oblongs please
Our Lovely Sponsor is

Who have a prize of $15 to spend instore
So without further ado here is my take on this weeks challenge:
I chose to make a decorative wall-hanging. I found the lovely lace at the Uttoxeter quilt & stitch show and just knew it was perfect for this project.
I used the Shewolf digital image from Paper Shelter
It reminds me of the anime Princess Mononoke
Come over to Fab'n'Funky and have a look at all the DT's inspirational makes

A Sassy Colour Combo Challenge

Hello happy crafters,

We have another Fabulous challenge going on over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges.

This weeks theme is

Favourite Colour Combo

 And our lovely sponsor is
I have a couple of colour combos that I really love, so it was hard to choose. Then I remembered who I was making the card for and the colour combo was obvious.
Any of you who know me fairly well will know I have two non-frilly daughters, and it's my eldests birthday so:

My fave colour combo is
Black Green and Blue
I have used Sassy Bloom digi stamp. I loved the morning glory look she had and knew straight away that blue, green and black would with well with this fab image.

Come and share your favourite colour combo with us.
Keep crafting

Father day is on the way

Can you believe we are in June already? Where is this year disappearing to?
I know the long hours I've done recently (12hrs on Friday) will make the time seem to pass a bit quicker but June? I'm sure it was Easter yesterday!?!?!
Oh well, the important thing is we are all here crafting. And I have a nice little Fathers Day card to share.
I will be entering this card into:
I've used  the masking technique to build up the picture
I started by stamping the campfire masked it then stamped the tent. A nice simple uncluttered card.
Of course you can't go camping without having a few little friends show up
I thought for a bit of an alternative I'd do a hand written sentiment.

It's getting a little late so I shall sign off for tonight.
Happy crafting
Hugs
